- David NDuring my three week stay in Japan, this restaurant stood out, not only as the best meal of the trip but the best cold meal of of my life. The balance between the ingredients is just so stark. I don't know if it was because of the somewhat striking first experience of cold noodles, but still. Excellent texture of the freshly made noodles. I'm recommending you to take a detour to eat at this establishment. The excellent service that comes of as genuine kindness, quiet neighborhood and decoration that manages to be both stylish and homely at the same time helps too.
- Ying YArashiyama is a very popular tourist attraction, and this means long queue everywhere. However, Mohichi is slightly further away from the tourist area and there were no queue in front of the shop when we passed by. (Having said so, still, this handmade soba shop has only one cook so be prepared to wait) The food served are excellent! First of all, you can feel the freshness of the soba. Secondly, the soup are great. Their signature dish is "Kamonchikoba" (duck soup soba), the soup is with strong aroma and sweet. Even all the other soba that we ordered were great. Also, they served the best tamagoyaki that I've ever tried!
SimoneDelicious hand made Soba noodles with succulent duck 😋 still a relatively new place so NO long wait during lunch.
